Esa vs. ésa

Note: the usage of "ésa" is now considered obsolete and "esa" is used instead.

Esa

  • that (feminine)

¿Vive alguien en esa casa? (Is there anyone living in that house?)
Esa ciudad es cuna de numerosas personas famosas. (The town gave birth to many men of note.)

Ésa

  • that one (feminine)

Ésa es una idea realmente buena. (That's a really great idea.)
Ésa es la mujer cuyo hijo está enfermo. (That's the woman whose son is sick.)
