Spanish conjugation explanation
Stem change: -e- → -i- (present)
<p>The -e- → -i- stem change affects many Spanish -ir verbs where the last vowel in the stem is an E (e.g. p<strong style="text-decoration: underline;">e</strong>dir, s<strong style="text-decoration: underline;">e</strong>guir - guir counts as one syllable).</p>
<p>Common verbs affected by this spelling change are: <span style="font-style: italic"><strong>pedir, seguir, vestir, servir, competir, medir, repetir</strong></span>, etc.</p>
