Forming the imperfect and future subjunctive verb forms

<p>The imperfect and future subjunctive verb forms are formed by <strong>removing the <span style="font-style: italic;">-ram</span> ending from the third-person plural form of the preterite tense</strong>, and adding the appropriate personal ending.</p>

<p>For example, the third-person plural form of the verb <span style="font-style: italic;">falar</span> in the preterite tense is <span style="font-style: italic;">eles falaram</span>, so the stem for the imperfect and future subjunctive forms will be <span style="font-style: italic;">fala-</span> (pay attention to the accents that have to be added to the 'nós' and 'vós' forms):</p>
